While on the way home we checked out the WSU dairy!

Pasteurized/raw: Raw = ships to WSU creamery

The dairy milks about 180 cows daily and sends the milk mostly to the WSU creamery where it is used for cheese (like Cougar Gold) and ice cream.

Their Double-5 Herringbone Parlor. The parlor was originally a side-opener built in 1962ish, but has been updated. The milking equipment is fairly updated with Auto-takeoffs, metering, and back flush.

Cow in maternity pen. The waterer in the background is a freeze proof type that doesn't need electricity. We've seen them in catalogs, and were interested in them, so it was great to see them in action! So far WSU is very pleased with these waterers.
